Default Portable GPS Units

Just wondering if anyone uses a portable GPS unit? Can you tell us what your using and give it a review? I've been looking at Garmin c550, Magellan 6000T and TomTom 910 mostly becaus these units give actual street names, but I've never actually used one. Thanks in advance.

Worth thier wait in gold. I don't think you can go wrong with any one of them Some may have different features then others but they should all be fairly similar.

Default I have the

Garmin c330 --it has truly been a time saver and I not longer have to use a mapscope anymore. Worth the money in my opinion. Just put in the address and a way you go. It will also come in handy when you neeed to find the nearest HD or Loews.

Averatec Voya 320

Wife got it for me for Christmas for $279 I think.

Great unit that does not have the software hassle that many others do.

but when you back up, you need to get out and move the camera to the front of the vehicle so you can STILL see where you was...

I may put GPS on my next rig but I seem to do just fine with Mapquest, having a laptop with wireless internet access is nice.

I couldn't make it without my Garmin Streetpilot C330! My wife gave me this and a new watch for Christmas and told me I now have no excuse for ever being late for another appointment.

Default Your wife........

She did a nice job looking out for you there. I haven't been late to an appointment myself since I got the portable GPS unit. And even if it looks like I am going to be running late the Garmin finds me a shortcut that I wouldn't have found myself to save time.

You can add Microsoft or Delorme gps to the laptop for around $100 or so. I used to use delorme, worked great.

My Averatec has been spot on, I just wish I could put the NY Taxi cab driver voice on it.

"Hey you sob, you just missed your turn!" In a classic Ny kind of way.
